| I have both an old brown Ovation deep case and its vinyl cover, 1970's vintage. I don't know how to rate a case, but if I saw them in a music store advertized as new old stock , I would believe it. The pair have no flaws that I can see. The chrome latches all look like new, no rust, etc. I would like to sell them here to some fellow Ovation lover, but can't find any that have sold elsewhere to establish a reasonable asking price. Can any one advise me as to a source for looking up typical prices. Or should I list them on eBay with a $0.99 starting price and no reserve and take whatever the market determines is their worth. Thanks for any advice. |

I paid around $100 for an adamas version of the cover. Seemed like a good idea at the time until I realised it was a pain in the butt to use and I was afraid of damaging it so I prefered to risk scuffing the case instead. So other than the nostalgia, it was a complete waste of money. |

Location: Boise, Idaho | I paid $30 for an old brown case about a year ago. I thought it was in pretty good shape, but it's bent and is difficult to close with a guitar in it. I've seen lots of them on ebay up to around $100, but they seem to move if they are listed for less than that. The problem for me with ebay listings is that the shipping costs as much as the case is worth. |

Oh not just ebay, for us Canucks it's a nightmare. I'm shopping for a guitar stand right now, so one that's about $25 including free shipping in lower 48 is an additional $40 shipping to Canada and with crazy exchange rate (thanks low oil prices) brings it to Can$90 but should really be on par. So yeah I have pretty much nixed my major shopping and vacation (Hawaii) plans for the foresable future.

| Shipping rates have gone out of site. I took a small box full of Xmas goodies to UPS yesterday to ship from Ohio to NC. UPS wanted $68 to ship it. The clerk suggested I use the USPS. I was able to ship it 2 day Priority Mail For $13. I think UPS has so many lucrative contracts with the big Internet sellers that they try to discourage use by the public. The last guitar I shipped to Oregon from Ohio cost me $92. |
