| Greetings Everyone,
I am new here. Very glad to have found this club! I have just purchased my first Ovation Guitar, (CK047). It is a used one. I have a question, I hope someone can help me with. I love everything about my guitar except the rosette. I would like to have it changed. Do I need to contact an Ovation Service Center or a Luthier? I would like a custom rosette. The Koa wood top of my guitar is really beautiful unfortunately the rosette really does not match it well. What should I do? Thank you! |

Location: Keepin' It Weird in Portland, OR | That plastic ring is standard for that model.
You could contact Ovation about maybe getting another plastic ring...
But they all pretty much look alike. Some wider, some with abalone.
Another option would be to have a local luthier change it for you, but there could be a problem...
The sound-hole might now be perfectly round under that rosette.
You should look from the inside with a mirror before you proceed.
Maybe after you play it for a while it will grow on you.
Or at least you will get used to it.

| Greetings Arthur,
Thank you for your suggestions. I have emailed Ovation to see what they may say. I also went to the Ovation website to look around, their Model CS24P- FKOA has a very nice minimal abalone rosette with ivory. It has a very clean look which I like. Do wish they had done that with my model also. I will ask after a luthier too. |

| Greeting Everyone,
An update, I have heard back from Ovation. They do not think that I will have a problem removing the plastic rosette and doing a custom inlay. So I need a Luthier. I have contacted several shops. If anyone knows of a good shop please suggest. Thank you! |
