Location: Upper Left USA | So regretably I was unable to make the trek back to Mother's and after seeing the photos I am filled with optimism, hope, thankfulness and of course... GAS! So here are just a few of my burning questions: When and what will be made available for sale or Custom Order? Can I still send in a broken relic of an Ovation and have them replace everything except the tuners (commonly referred to as a Patch Job)? Is the 50th Anniversary Tee Shirt only available to those smart enough to attend the opening? When will Mr. Big be able to take custom Adamas orders? Will there be a Solid Body line in the near future (aka, Koa bodied Deacon 12 string VXT)? Will the TX and Celebrity series go to the bolt on neck and become a viable acoustic? This is a good year indeed! |

Did you notice among all the pics the rack of what looked like chambered bodies?
And there was another pic of a guy wearing a shirt with the VXT logo.

Some of us have to know how much to price used-and-abused body parts to be able to get one!
Also:
Will each variation of Anniversary Model be sold at one time for a specified time period, or all 5 at the same time?
Will the Phoenix be on all of the Anniversary Models (I Love that Phoenix in the O!)

And what's great is, the event on Monday has created some real optimism that this might actually work!
In one of the news articles quoted in another thread, it mentioned building around 300 USA Ovations by March 2016. That's not a lot of guitars for a world-wide market. I'm wondering if they'll ramp up after they get their bearings...? |

Location: Phoenix AZ | Gotta admit ... I thought these guys were down for the count and I protected myself from getting too optimistic. Still huge questions exist if they can really make it a viable business, but I must say some of these new model ideas do look pretty interesting. |

I think that we a staff of 7 and output in the 100s Ovation should be considered a "boutique" shop like Goodall, Collings, etc and compettiotion in this niche is getting tough. We can only hope that they sell like cinnamon buns and that DW is planning expansion!

My burning question if I may is, does this mean...for a guy like me in Japan it will be less likely to see these 50th Models in Japanese music stores, and I'd have a better chance at one of these by making a custom/special order? Btw, I like the bolt-on neck idea for the AX, TX and Celebrity models. |

Phoenix... All the 50ths have em I believe.
Customs... It'll be a while I bet. They're tasked to make 300+ guitars, and they'll be hard pressed to accomplish that goal.
I do not think they'll have an issue selling off 50 units of each of these worldwide. The model will work. They just need to break even in the USA, and they can make the $ on the imports.
As for the imports, I wasn't concerned so I didn't ask many questions in relation to those.

Location: SoCal | I must admit, I thought that the two 50th anniversary guitars that I saw in pics (cutaway and non cutaway), looked absolutely stunning! I had a fear that all the new guitars were going to be geared towards the "younger" crowed. What the pics showed were very classy looking instruments, either of which could ignite my long dormant GAS.
