He's drunken th'Taylor KoolAid.…
I asked him once at a Gig why he'd made "th'Switch".
He told me it all came about when LaurenceJuber convinced him that
"…Ovations were Rubbish……"
It was about THEN that I snatched th'CD out of his hand that he was about to sign for me … |

Still have a bunch of his albums (White's) I listen to regularly, though. |

Location: Western Sonoma County | Got dragged to an Al Stewart show several years ago. He pompously declared he was a "lyricist" rather than a songwriter, and detailed his quest for great lyrics. No new songs - same old lame stuff. I suppose if lyrics are those things found on inspirational posters found in the back of in-flight catalogues, he qualifies. A grating stage presence (say "lyric" repeatedly in an English accent and you'll get the idea). Peter White's guitar work was solid, but better during the short solo performance he did before Stewart. Anyway, my Al Stewart impression brings my wife to tears of laughter every time. Haha. |
