Brought my Adamas 1687 up to the Mother Ship for some minor work.

It was nice to see the new shop.  They’re located around back of the main building in a small space but sure enough they’re fixing and making guitars.

Here’s the wall behind John’s desk. Of course it wouldn't be the Ovation Factory without the right calendar.

Yep there's the Ole table.

New Shop Floor

New Shop Floor

John took me over to the Old Shop space to see what they’ve done with it.

The Bar is where the old design conference room used to be.

Ovation has helped decorate the Bar walls appropriately.

Wouldn't be an old Ovation factory with Glenn.

The Stage is on former shop floor.

Here's more former shop floor.

The new shop is around back and the old entrance is used by the new tenants. But they left the sign painted on the wall.

Can’t wait to see what the 50th Anniversary guitars will look like.  I hear there will be an Elite.

Hey Jimmer, thanks for the photos! Can't wait to see the first offerings from DW, and if DW is listening, thanks for the resurrection!

I could spend some serious time there... new shop floor AND the bar!

Looks like a spot for the next OFC Gathering. Bar and stage already in place.

That might be my 1974 Legend in one of the shop pics. It's in for a refretted. Can you enlarge just the tag? ;-)

That on site pub would very convenient. .... and maybe a little dangerous.

This is the best I could do with the full resolution picture.  If I tried to zoom in to the tag it's just pixels.

Indeed, it would be nice to have a 50th anniversary gathering. John said they’d like to do that if possible.

Apparently, Fender wasn’t crazy about factory tours. But they’re hoping to do them in the future.

It’s going to be a slow start but they’ve got some of the original folks and are trying to bring more back in.

DW signed a 10 year lease so they’ve shown some confidence in the operation.

It sure is a luxury to hop in the car, drive an hour or so and put my guitar into the hands of the folks who created it. Every time I’ve brought a guitar there it always comes back playing and sounding great.

Thanks very much for the pictures, Jimmer. The only time I was ever there was for the last meeting of "Let's Meet Guild." I look forward to returning.

At times I am envious of your proximity, especially on a day like today when our valley is filled with smoke from a nearby forest fire. But Friday I'll take a scenic drive up to our cabin in the mountains, reunite with my cabin Ovations, and I won't be wishing I was anywhere else.

I hear you. This is a nice time of year to be in Connecticut. Warm clear Fall days and the leaves are really pretty. I'm so glad I can just drive up and drop off my guitar rather than shipping it.

My Sister-In-Law lives in Montana and we've heard a bunch about the wild fires. She has a cabin on the front range and we've visited her and that Big Sky is breath taking. Nothing like crisp mountain air and a nice front porch to enjoy playing your Ovations.

Driving around New Hartford area today, I'd say the foliage is at peak. There is a period of a week or two where it's colorful, but the true peak is just a couple of days then it's over. This year the colors are very bright with the foothills bathed in enhanced yellows and reds...it varies year to year. It can lift your spirits when things look bleak.
