There are no lacquer cracks or cracks. If you angle the soundboard into the light you can see where the previous owner used a pick. I believe these pick marks can be buffed out, if they bother you…but in normal light you cannot see them. The bowl is in great shape. Neck is straight. Tuners work great. There is one ding on the crown that is noticeable. I could only find two really small dings in the soundboard. If you would like, I could send you up close pictures of all of them. Otherwise, the guitar is really in damn good condition. The frets are in excellent shape. The electronics work without any problem...except I have no idea about the stereo side, since I am not set up to test it. The action is low and easy to play with no buzzing. Comes with an Ovation HS case.
Asking 550, shipped USPS regular shipping. My email address is jay@jayk.net, if you have any questions and I certainly can send you any picture that you would like...just let me know.

I know that mine has a TRC, so I went down and checked the Serial Number. It was made in 1978, not 1982 like I was told. Wonderful pieces!!! Later regretted that blunder and bought the JL3 reissue, another great guitar and I sold that one as well for reasons I can not recall. Having committed two acts of stupidity it was always on my to do list to hopefully find another and Jay offered a deal I could not refuse. So I guess you could say I've gone full circle and learned the hard way. Jim Croce: Should have listened to all the things I was told but I was young and too proud at the time Now I look at myself to find that I learn the hard way every time Guitar arrived today but I don't arrive until Saturday but I'm sure I will love it. I'm going to put on a custom TRC with the words engraved "DO NOT SELL"

I have bought 52 guitars over the years and only let two go, one many years ago in order to have the cash to buy a plane ticket to interview for the job From which I retired three years ago, and the second more recently which involved a trade for an amp. I have some guitars that I am embarrassed to say I've never even played and I still can't bring myself to part with them. At least I can proudly say neither guitar I've parted with was an Ovation. Someday I know I am going to have to start slimming down, but it isn't any time soon.

I keep talking myself into buying another guitar, with the intention of selling one, but in the end, I convince myself to keep them all. I did sell one Celebrity, but have since regretted that, since it was my first Ovation.

I agree he was stupid for selling it, but only as stupid as I was for not buying it. I may have had a Patriot at that time, which I sold in a moment of weakness. I can't call that sale stupid, because I used the proceeds of that and some others to donate to a charity. Hard Way is one of my favorite Jim Croce songs and he's my favorite singer/songwriter.
