For those that didn't get the official 2015 OFC Calendar, October shows a twin pair of Pearl White SSBs, a 6 and a 12.

The 1868-6P needed some fretwork, so I sent her off to New Hartford for the job to be done right, and to also fix a tiny laquer blemish on the duckbill part of the headstock.

It came back with a wonderful fret job... and 4 long cracks in an 'x' like pattern with the intersection of the x being the bridge. I cryed in agony and gave Mr Budny a shout. They made good on it, but they're no longer twins. Now it has a brand new Pearl White finish, bridge (without screws like the previous) and new eppies. I also had a new nut cut for it as the old one was a bit low, especially after the fret job.

Really, it's a brand new looking guitar with a top that's been opened up with 25 years of playing.

old and dingy one really. I just did it for the white guitar. I like the red better and might re-do it, but this is how it was in the calendar too

John and the Boys do an Amazing job!!! I am sorry that the Crack Curse got your Guitar, but it is all Brand new again, and looks Fantastic!!

Did you have a new bone nut put on? Do they make a significant difference?

I blame you Nancy. It happened right after you posted about your woes.

John sent me both kinds, I used the non-bone cuz it matched up a bit better. The bone slots were just a touch off. A considerable amount of the notes I play are fretted, it makes very little difference to me anyway. For me, I've found saddles make a bigger difference on some of the wood boxes I've had over time, but I'm not really a wood box guy anymore. I only have one of those left.

LOL!!!!!! I am sorry Damon, it seemed to be making the rounds then...
It could be that they all happened for a reason, maybe John needed to have goodies to work on, to show how invaluable and professional he is to DW at that time. The Curse seems to be lifted, and our John has a solid job now! So all is good!

Sadly, if you were not fotunate enough to acquire a calendar last year, you'll just have to wait until November or so to see those pics when I add them to the albums section here.

Of course, now you have a perfeectly good reason to refurb the twin don't ya Damon?

Yes, I know. I was gonna send him a note to see, but realized he's probably back in email limbo again.

My daughter's 1868-6P has acquired that nice very mellow aged white look
