This was posted on the Ovation Guitars facebook page. Maybe not the guitar I would pick, but encouraging nonetheless.....

Hmmm... looks like an endorsement of the "new" logo.
It would be unfortunate to launch a comeback based on one unsuccessful and unproven attempt at a re-design.
Utterly ignores 99.999% of Ovation's tradition and history.

Sheesh. Those guitars remind me of the all the chinese knockoffs of Ovations guitars you see at NAMM. A composite back with a funky headstock, funky soundhole, pinned bridge, and weird inlays.

Yes indeed bobbo.

.
It's like if Ford went for a complete re-launch and decided that the model to kick it off would be the Edsel.
And... it has the stench of Fender all over it.

Ovations are instantly recognizable, without a logo. If I saw that guitar sitting in a room and someone told me it was an Ovation, I would say bullshit.

I don't think that DW has anything to do with the Ovation Guitars facebook page.
And the LT-60 is an Ovation designed by a person who doesn't like Ovations.

That is just a photo on Facebook.
If it were a portent of the future that would be very Discouraging.
Just hang-on to your vintage O's and keep scouring the pawn shops.

Damon, you need to post some of your red carpet photos on this facebook page. Is that possible?

Ya know... The new ownership might want to put some of their own spin on what they decide to bring to market... which is their right. Maybe they feel that to be successful they have to do something different than was done before. Therefore, "we" may have to accept that something slightly different might happen. I'd think that DW might want to be more than just a re-issue company.
That said, the LT-60 is still just.... wrong.

I posted a pic of a REAL headstock yesterday, but yeah, they could use some classin' up over there.

I sometimes wish they would.... Remember when people walked down the street and smiled, or noticed things? You could talk to someone without them answering a phone call or text. You could stand in an elevator without listening to someone else's conversation, or the same with a public restroom??? I know people love them, but sometimes I miss the *lack* of technology.... Back on topic!

I don't mind the LT-60 as much as others. Don't care for the headstock, but a pinned bridge is a PITA when you want to keep your nails for finger picking. That said, if they sell something I don't like, I don't mind if it also means I have the potential to buy more of what I do like.

SWMBO has just spent a whole lot of money upgrading perfectly good furniture, and I have a hankering for a wood top Adamas or ...

Something else that's encouraging --- look at ovationguitars.com and take a look at the logo on the upper right. It seems to be on every page. and it's not that ka-ka logo that used the O from the LT-60!

Using the Original Font is smart.

True to your word so far... The same, but different indeed.

TAFKAR, you probably already know that reciprocity is really expensive when you are writing the checks for both sides. That, and they seem to think they "need" new furniture, carpet, paint, appliances etc. way more often than we "need" a new guitar. It's not all one sided, though. The last big thing SWMBO decided we "needed" was a boat. I still haven't sold the old one. I may need more than one guitar, but I sure don't need more than one boat.

The slot in these string winders are for pulling bridge pins.
