Does anyone know the story behind the 1984-1985 serial numbers off the reference list? The 84 Elites only #s end at 303319 and the 85 serials start at 303320 and go to 356000. In between in the same range of numbers is the 84 Balladeers only section running from 315001-339187. I'm guessing the Balladeer #s were used for all the 84 roundholes. Is this the case and does the 84 # range simply make a hole in the 85 serial range or is there a typo? I recently picked up a 1117 that had to be made in 84 as the serial is in the 84 Balladeer range and there is no 85 1117 in the catalog, seems simple but looking at the serial list makes me wonder what the factory was doing then. I was also wondering why there are no 1986 numbers....thanks in advance to anybody with the history here.
