Location: sitting at my computer | Mark in Boise - I wanted to play sax when I was a little kid, but signed up for clarinet lessons by mistake. D'oh!!! I can relate though Mark. During junior-high I wanted to join the band and play trumpet, Herb Albert was coooool, but after buying into some baloney from my folks about Bennie Goodman, I wound up with a @#$%! clarinet. I was not a happy camper. Figured out how to intentionally make the reed skreeeetch while practicing at home just to drive my folks nuts. The responding verbal threats were numerous. Eventually I conviced 'em to get me a guitar instead. Afterward, mom said she wished she'd done that a whole lot sooner. |
