Ole Laakso was the neat old guy who did a lot of the hand carving for Adamas guitars (among other things.) He passed away the other day. I used to go visit him at lunchtime sometimes. It was a joy to watch him work.

And Roland Langlois passed away too. He worked with my Dad designing the tooling and machinery that made it possible to build Ovations.

Both were in their 90's. I know most of you didn't know them, but you all know their work. So stop and give them a thought and a thanks today.

+1

Everytime I see a carved heel I'll be thinking "Ole" now. And Roland when I play the Roland Custom Legend

Thanks for sharing Alison

Being described as a "neat old guy" is probably something all us guys should aspire to.

Most of us have no idea of all the great people who were involved in the creation of the instruments we play and love, but their talent and hard work has an impact on us every time we pick up our guitars.

I will have a beer and play a song for each of them and say thanks for all your work!
