The great guitarist, musical folklorist and songwriter died today. For those of you who appreciate him it is a great loss indeed. From Pentangle to many fantastic solo projects (esp. with the sublime Jackie McShee), he has been a true original. A few personal favorite albums: "A Maid Who's Deep in Love" and "Ship of Fools."

John and Bert Jansche were quite a team in Pentangle!. My favorite Renbourne tune "Another Monday"! Loved his finger pickin.

John, RIP.
