How are you Southern boys doing with these recent storms cutting across the lower half of the nation? The ice storms are the worse. I had a cousin who lived in Tennessee for awhile. His grandpa used to kid him that unless it was only a quick trip out to the privvy, ice was about the only thing would make him put on his shoes, if'n he could find 'em.

I noticed several days when it was colder in Atlanta than it was here. I think this will be our warmest February ever and I never got out to play golf once.

We're close to setting a record for snowfall in Denver for February, most of it in the past 2 weeks. We may have broken it last night with more expected through next Monday. But we're used to snow. Those folks in New England have seen enough. My daughter in Boston has had over 90 inches in the past month and has had to deal with significant damage to her home, which she just bought last June.

Here in the Black Hills we had a couple of weeks of cold and a little snow in November. Then we went into record breaking warmth from December until this week. We had highs in the fifties, lot's of sixties, and even a few seventies. This week it has gotten colder with today being the coldest - a high of seventeen. Had a dusting of snow Saturday and another dusting last night.

The mountains here had no snow on the lower 1/3rd until this morning. This is our first snow in town since Christmas. Flowers are blooming. I've been walking the dogs without even a sweatshirt many days. But Nashville and New Orleans layovers have been really cold!

All our winter has been shipped east this year.

Still holding the title of snowiest city in the US for this season... Art perhaps we should be loading this snow onto trains for the west coast rather than trucking it to "snow farms" for melting.

DaViD, That kinda makes me homesick.
I was in Boston for the Blizzard of '78...
Recent TV images look much worse than that, for much longer.

-15 actual temp. -35 below wind chills this morning. I went out to feed the birds and squirrels, and my hands were frozen in no time. The dogs could barely go potty, they were trying to lift freezing feet off the ground at the same time!

Weird winter for us this year too, very little snow (for Minnesota) but horrible cold temps and wind chills! I talked to my Nephew in Alaska, and he said that they were in the 30's and wearing shorts and t-shirts wishing for some snow (he just got a new high-powered sled!). We are supposed to get up to the 20's for a few days starting tomorrow, and I can see all the Sweatshirts and shorts coming out already!

I feel really bad for the East Coast people too, that is just SO much snow to contend with in such a short period of time! And now the Southern Folks are getting hit with nasty weather too! COME ON SPRING!!!!!!

I would suggest curbing GAS. Shipping in this weather is not advised. I just found out the hard way.

4 long cracks in the top, in the form of an x, the bridge at the center. They weren't there when it was shipped, but they were there when it arrived here.

It'll get fixed

dvd back in the winter of 80-81 I was a college student at Cape Cod Community College (aka the 4 C's)
There was an unusual and very cold spell of weather on the Cape that winter. Snow, no plows, everyone panicked...being from CT the snow was not a problem for me but up there? Forget it.

Anyway, one night we parked down in Falmouth on the shore and the weather took a sudden jump in temperature, went from freezing cold to the 50's-60's in a couple hours. The harbor was frozen but as the weather suddenly warmed large waves began to surge through the ice as it disintegrated. It was one of the most incredible visual spectacles I've ever seen.

I see now this situation repeating itself...it's very rare...and can only nod my head and remember that night from long, long ago. Been there! Great pics.
