Anybody on this forum attend this event in North Jersey, usually the Memorial Day weekend in May? I attended last year for the first time and it was a fun event with a lot of pickin time, collaboration between musicians and experience of every level. There's something for everyone including workshops on various music skills etc.
Last years event featured Frank Vignola and Vinny Raniolo two outstanding Jazz guitarists. (yes this is a Folk Festival but they mix it up sometimes!) See this link. http://frankvignola.com/ He is outstanding. He used to play with Les Paul in his weekly show in NYC! '
He left the Folk Project that weekend and played with Tommy Emmanuel in Toronto a short time after. That's the kind of company he keeps!! He also ran two guitar workshops that weekend that were awesome.
If you're not familiar with this festival, here's the link: http://www.folkproject.org/ The Acoustic Getaway is the particular event I'm referring to.

Just an FYI that the Folk Festival announcement and registration just opened up. I'm not a promoter, but last year I attended for the first time had a great time! I'm definitely going again. Its a great experience for anyone and open to all experience levels. Anyone within driving distance of North Jersey, this is a guitarists gathering you'd enjoy. Just sharing..... Here's the link to see this years lineup.
