Location: Muenster/Germany | The bridge on this guitar looks like it would work loose from the surface, or better, the laquer surface itself seems to dismantle from the top wood . Does anyone know if the bridge if these guitars were glued on the surface or directly on the top wood? I put 2 pics in the album "flag" on this site. |

The laquer under the bridge is lifting and obviously the bridge with it AND the bridge itself from the laquer...we will try to cut the laquer out precisely and try to fix it at the edges and then glue the bridge directly on the top-wood. |

Location: Denmark | Judging by the pictures I would do the same. Loosen the paint along the edge of the saddle and see if it sticks to the paint or the wood. |

Location: Muenster/Germany | Fortunately it was only the laquer coat a bit lifting, the bridge itself is stable like a rock (and not glued on the finish what I first thought).Little glue was all we needed. The bridge has just a little gap for the thick colouring reaching 2mm under the edge, obviously for mounting purposes. All the fear was needless. Now the guitar got a slight fret-job, new Schaller machines, a little polish and feels and looks like new. Thank you for your advices. |

Location: Steeler Nation, Hudson Valley Contingent | There's no relief like "Disaster Averted" relief. That's always been one of the coolest paint jobs on any brand of guitar! I have the mid-bowl version, and my whole family says it's one of their favorites. |

Location: Muenster/Germany | Positively the flag design Ovation is an optical event. Besides that I anyway prefer to play american music (Blues...) and thus the guitar is perfect.
The only thing I could not understand is that this instrument, with pearl inlays on the hedstock, cold colours like the red and blue of the flag and black was equipped with golden tuners. They absolutely didn´t match the existing look. I replaced them with chromeplated Schallers with ebony pegheads, looks noble now, like art nouveau furniture.

It´s a similar "problem" I have with my ´82 collector´s, maybe I will trim it with satin silver Schallers.
In my profession I have a great deal to do with design and colours and these are the things that make me mad sometimes. |
