I discovered that I had Lost thousands of dollars." I did that on a single guitar. sigh

It was redundant with my Adamas 2080, and school funds were needed for the kids' tuitions. I also sold a solid body electric, an Ibanez SZ520. It was a good guitar but didn't fit my needs or style. As a teen/college student I had some inferior electrics which I sold off.

Do you try to break even or... When I first started buying and selling in 2007 or so, it was a different world. You could buy an Ovation on eBay for $300, play it for six months... then Sell it for $400. I bought different guitars to try them out back then. You could buy a guitar, play it for a while... and at least get your money back to try something else. Other than my trusty 1755 C. Balladeer, which I bought new back in the 80's, this is how I acquired every guitar I now own. As a social worker, I could never afford to outright buy such nice instruments, so I dabbled in a bit of capitalism over the years. It also helped pay the occasional unexpected bill. I would also add that John Budny and Kim Keller helped considerably with some very grand gestures on their part. I can't thank them enough.

Click on REFERENCE (left side menu bar) and then choose Database. Once there you can click CURRENT at the top right and the list will collapse to only those that I still own. There's some I regret selling and some I regret ever buying. www.ovationgallery.com How do you have enen time to play the guitars with all the wheeling and dealing and packing ... and haven't you tried some other brands as well?

Maybe folks should just list the one single regret... For me, I regret most letting the 1538 go. I thought the "one out, one in" would help with SWMBO, but she'd've forgiven me by now and I'd have it AND the 1617ALE!

I figure that someday they'll drop back down into the garage sale novelty category and I'll get one. I can't believe that Josh and the QOTSA influence, or whatever that was, has lasted this long. He quit playing them a long time ago.

Exactly why I let it go. It was over valued. I traded it for a Book Elite that was owned by some gas station dude. An Asian made Les Paul copy for that? A no-brainer for me. Both parties were (and still are I think) happy with our decisions. I'd still like to have it back.
