Location: Chicago | By the way: does anyone ACTUALLY use the STEREO JACK on their Adamas? How does it work exactly? How does it sound? I mean three strings out of one amp and three out of the other? Sounds like science fiction. |

I have a monster Y cord that plugs into two identical Acoustasonic Jrs., then they both feed into a stereo PA system. Split wide, the sound is totally different. Every other string is split to one channel, so EDB to one side and AGE to the other. I've used headphones on the PA as well and the effect is true stereo. |

Location: Tennessee | I use the stereo outs on my 1537, JL3, and OFC. Usually when I'm recording and go into two channels using a y cable. Really fattens up the sound. Although it's best when strummed, finger picking CAN be OK, but lead is just plain goofy.

Location: Chicago | I'm overwhelmed by it all. Today, Jeff Burns and I plugged into our Bose L1 (with a Fishman Loudbox as a STEREO "outrider"). The 1581 was beyond HUGE. The phrase "sonic triumph" comes to mind.
As far as STEREO set-ups, I'll have to try it. Prof BB and Sonebobo (and Stephen): what sort of Y cable EXACTLY should I acquire? |

Location: Colorado Rocky Mountains | I have three or four stereo Y cables, including one that I picked up from Al with the VXT, but the one I prefer is a cable with colored leads, orange/red to one side and black to the other. I think the brand was Monster but I could be wrong. It is a very heavy cable like a Monster, and I bought it at GC some years ago. I also have the original Y cord that came from the dealer when I bought my 1651 back in 1981. Still works fine, but it is very skinny and insubstantial, so I don't use it anymore. |

While I wouldn't hesitate to use it in the studio, I don't think I would trust it to gigging.
The ProCo is a good one at a decent price. |

I LOVE the original 2 knobbers and the newer version that the factory came up with for the reissues are even better than the originals (IMHO).....like you said...HUGE! |

Location: Chicago | Jeff Burns tells me that Larry Coryell recorded his ADAMAS slothead in STEREO: the single-note lines fly from string to string, from speaker to speaker. That sounds insane (and kind of cool). |
