Location: Wayne, NJ | I saw this advertised at GC for $250.00. Besides being a little pricey, is this a a good recorder/pre-amp? How does it compare to the OP-30? Can I just slip it in to the pre-amp slot?

You cannot just drop the iDea into the OP-30 can... the connectors won't line-up.
You can remove the OP-30 can and replace it with the iDea can.
It is a pretty simple procedure.
As to the usefulness of the iDea...
That depends.
If you need backing tracks to your songs, this is pretty handy.
And you can store a bunch of songs.

Location: Yokohama, Japan | If you write songs, the iDea mp3 recorder is a "killer" tool. It's also perfect to practice your chops. My only issue is that I wish there were more recording level options. You probably have seen this already, but here's a cool website for the iDea Pre-amp newbie...

My son and I both own the iDea guitar with the pre-amp. The guitar's assembly seems to be very inconsistent, but we both love our mp3 recorder/tuner/pre-amp. IMO, they sound just as good as the OP30s. |
