MusicMishka may put one together for VA, which would be in range for you. You never know what may pop up. We have one in two weeks in Florida. The big event, which may or may not happen, is the annual Factory Tour and jam, usually in May. Stay tuned for news, if any, on this event, in CT.

I have bookmarked your MYspace and will try to catch your band sometime. We will try to have another Southern Jam this year, either in Asheville again or possibly in Simpsonville, SC (1 1/2 hours from Asheville)or in Virginia. Welcome and stick around!

Keith, I missed your first post, so I'll say "Welcome to the Board!" here. Let me know if you're serious about coming down for the jam and I'll send you directions.

With Bethany going off to college this fall, Mrs M and I are looking to relocate away from the chilly Delaware Valley. Currently we have a realtor working on property in the Lake Norman (Charlotte, NC) area and I am loving finding out all about the many benefits of this area. The strong Scottish/celtic heritage in the area is very appealing. I have to be within 1 hour drive of a major hub airport or else we'd be looking up towards the mountains and Asheville which would be a great place to live. Will track with interest developments.

One great thing about the jams is the opportunity to play the different guitars from each other's collections. And the people are cool too.

Lake Norman area is beautiful! Like Lanaki, I am of Scottish heritage also, clan McArthur. Never could find a kilt that I looked good in though.

Joined: November 2006 Posts: 3969 | Hey Keith - the gathering I'm hosting is in 2 weeks. There is a 'gathering' of sorts at the end of March where about 20 of us are attending a weekend workshop at Amelia Island (just north of Jacksonville) organized by Beal and taught by Matt Smith. The original thread is here . All the spaces are filled (but check with Beal anyway if you're interested), but once we're done with the instructional part of the workshop we'll all still be gathering and playing informally.
