"hillbilly"... Because of its strongly stereotypical connotations, the term is frequently considered derogatory.

What in God's name is wrong with you lanaki?

What part of, "be kind to others" and "take Politics somewhere else", can't you understand?

Your musical talent is impressive...

but I find your political commentaries disgustingly misplaced.

Al, what is this all about? I thought OFC members are exploring boundaries of political correctness (=PC) because you all like and respect each other. Are there some guideline about the PC?

STK - Al might have misinterpreted your question, since he's in a foul mood.

Yes, there are guidelines, and no, they have nothing to do with political correctness. They have everything to do with keeping this a civil discussion board about Ovation and Adamas guitars.

Al has been very clear, on numerous times, that ANY political or religious discussion belongs elsewhere. These are topics that can bring people to blows, and nations to war, and there are more sites devoted to these than anyone could possibly visit in a lifetime. Al believes, rightly in my opinion, that these subjects have no place here.

I didn't see Lanaki's original post, nor do I care what it was. Al obviously thought it crossed the line of acceptability HERE - note HERE, it might be perfectly acceptable elsewhere - and so made the decision to remove it, as is his right and responsibility as founder, admin and moderator of this board. Lanaki's been warned before not to post politically oriented topics, so Al felt he must take harsher action.

I know there are many people here whose political or religious views are 180 degrees from mine. That doesn't stop me from asking for or giving help, advice or consolation from or to anybody here. Al's diligence is what keeps this board civil and such a great place to be a member of. We focus on what unites us and not what could divide us.

Stay away from political or religious things. Should be easy also don't run with scissors in your hands.

g8r is right. I saw the picture - it is very, very funny but has a political background and I have no idea why it was posted here. Search the web and you find a lot of similiar pictures (no, I don´t post the search items, I´m not a suicide).

I'd guess something to do with Mr and Mrs Clinton. Ya see those f@cking pictures enough, not here. I'd rather look at a Taylor. (can I say that here?)

Thank you for the explanation g8r.

Al: I was just simply asking a question because I am relatively new here and did not fully understand what was going on. However, I do need vacation from my work but not from the OFC site. ;)

Geeez... I go camping ONE NIGHT... you guys must get "miles isn't looking at his pc today" alerts.

Glad Al is on the ball.

As this topic really has no purpose at this point seeing, as the 1st post was driving it...

It's closed, move along, nothing to see.
