Here's Some shots of the Ovation displays at NAMM.

Adamas 2008 Collector. Best sounding Ovation product at the show.

Two new models - Heroine Diaries and Seven.

Heroine Diaries Celebrity - Yes we have become our parents.

ULTRA - Nice guitar for the money.

Celebrities

Celebrities

VXT - Some very nice new finishes.

It was an interesting event. Dave

Again Hamer had the best damn looking electrics at the show.

Only downside is that these were about $8k a pop.

Martin has some very nice models on display. I didn't get a lot of photos. They've finally made a few sunbursts that don't make you retch.

These were interesting ...

Very nice tooled leather cover on the Elvis guitar.

Worlds ugliest pickguard.

This was actually my favorite guitar of the show. An OM with bubinga back and sides. The inlay and binding work was absolutely exquisite. And the thing played like butter.

One small problem. It cost $20,000.

But all-in-all, Thanx for the pics.
And I like the look of that VXT on the left(?).
The Huney-Boist, book-matched, flame maple, y'all-know-which-one I mean!

Oh... and Dave, your favorite guitar has a hole in the side.

COMPOSITE ACOUSTICS. The Q ???

I didn't get any photos but I was SUPER IMPRESSED with their new stuff. They have an OM sized model with a single offset blowhole (like the Adamas 2080). And it sounds A-Mazing.

It has no traditional glued on bracing (or even glued on carbon fiber bracing) - the "bracing" is woven right into the top. In addition, even the fretboard is carbon graphite, as is the bridge. I don't think there's a piece of wood on the guitar anywhere! And it just sounded super sweet.

AND, they make a 22 inch scale travel version, which was WAY COOL.

That collectors is really nice looking. Is it a fiber top? Also the binding looks like wood from this distance, is it?

Agree with MM's comments about the VXT's Hamers and Ultras, but that Sixx guy sells guitars, but isn't he a bass player. I'm probably not up to speed.

Dave, did Ralph Steadman do the artwork for the heroin guitar? Looks like his style.

Didn't see many USA Ovations, were there any on display other than the "08 Collectors and the VXT ? Just curious.

There is a Martin of that design hanging up here at Huber-Breese. Not quite as fancy and a far cry from 20k, but the same build design.
I like it!!!

Heroin Diaries... why??? Because "Hello Kitty" was already taken.

Heroine Diaries ... it's for the kids!

PS Those Hamer's look great, especially that LPS type ... so many guitars ... so little money. Sigh.

Nice pics and comments, Dave.

Bet that leather covered 28 has killer (or killed) tone. Waylon's Fender was just sooo much cooler!

And that PW pick guard ain't all that bad, is it? :)

Maybe :D

He used to do the artwork for Hunter S Thompson's books and does a bunch of wine labels and other things. Weird stuff.
