Try a Crate CA15 Cimarron Amplifier.

Here's a link. Crate Amplifiers

I have had very good success with Crate acoustic amplifiers. The Cimmaron is a good starter amp, but if you can come up with a few more bucks, $229, the 30 watt Taos would be much better. It has excellent effects and a big sound. I use Crate acoustic amps both on the road and in the studio. God bless!

I've had both the Cimmaron and the Taos. I have the Cimmaron now. Looking back, I should have kept the Taos. The Cimarron only has reverb, and a weak one at that. I miss having a chorus or delay. Both are adequately loud. I kept the Cimarron because I thought I needed a "CD-in" and headphone out. How silly, used it for 10 minutes. ;-(

Another route which sounds OK is a Roland Micro Cube. The JC Clean setting doesnt sound half bad with an Ovation, especially with some chorus and reverb in the mix. Not as clean as an acoustic amp, but so portable (AA batteries). You'd have a nice practice amp should you venture into electrics too.

Most home players buy way more amp than they'll ever need at home. I'm one of the worst offenders. The Genz Shenendoah Jr is an excellent amp for the money, but even it may be more amp than is needed for the bedroom or basement, and it may be slightly beyond your price range. Give Al a call. Not sure if he has any left, but Genz was closing them out a while back and Al was offering terrific deals on a number of models in the Genz line.

I'd pick the CA15 over the microcube, but you should be able to find a shop near you so you can do a comparison. Another option is to look at keyboard amps like a Hog 30, which may do the trick and is in your price range.

If that's the DA-30, that'll work really good.
