Well as for the drugs, Phil one hopes Lanaki got the recipe right. Otherwise it may be a while before we hear from him :}

Hi, Everyone,
I exchanged posts with Lanaki on her a few years back, and found out we are actually distantly related through his wife's family!? One never knows what will happen here at the OFC, does one? I certainly didn't see that one coming, nor did I ever envision the closing of The MS! On a more positive note, I have been offered a deal on an Ovation GS (solid-body) electric guitar, i.e., their version of a Les Paul Custom, or so I 've been told. I'm not sure what the value would be now. I have also been informed that yes, indeed, the 1983 Collector's Series in my home town is still for sale, and the price has come DOWN! YAY! Decisions, Decisions, eh? Excuse my phraseology, but I shall keep you posted. Sorry for the bad pun.

sure coulda used some "good" drugs over the past few years, but alas, i managed to abstain and zero in on a nursing degree (woot, woot for scholarships!). will finally grad 363 days from now. quite an accomplishment considering my wild step-daughter and her 5 wilder children moved in with us a year ago, out of necessity. 10 of us in a small two bedroom...its probably illegal. if not, it should be.

one of the real cool things about this living arrangement is that my two daughters, who are now 8 and 9, and my grandkids, who range from 5 to 13, are all musical. we enjoy family jam sessions several times a week. they all play ukulele and sing. chloe, my 8 year old, sings the most incredible natural harmony! she and her sister, ariana, just completed a 4-day musical tour of the island with their handbell/chimes ensemble. music brings joy, peace and cohesiveness to an otherwise "nut house".

last semester, i spent 10 hours per week teaching ukulele, guitar and basic computing at the private school these kids all attend.

so, all is well from my perspective excepting the demise of our mothership. a not-surprising sadness...

Believe it or not, 20 years from now, you will probably look back on all the current madness with fond memories.

Hi, LAnaki,
It's good to know you have not dropped off the face of the planet. "The middle of the deep blue sea" would seem like a close second to some; so now I really am both figuratively, and literally, your distant relative after all, not to mention the fact that I also grew up in a farmhouse with 10 people in it, too. Half of those 10 people were 5 women, so you know the drill, right? Keep up the good work, and don't stop doing what you're doing. Musicians never retire.

Good to see your keystrokes up here again.

I vote for you hosting the next gathering. You already have the house band.
