Location: Fort Worth, TX		My latest acquisition from the Denver luthier dwgpreacher hooked me up with. A few people on the AGF forum said it looks like a Gibson/Martin hybrid. It is the only dread that has finally replaced the D28 Custom in my mind that was stolen from me 30 years ago. The action is perfect for fingerstyle and it's a robust strummer as well. I got it ridiculously cheap as the builder only charged me his material cost for it since I've sold 7 of his builds for him in recent months. I only put it up on an Ovation forum because now the maple/Adi OM he built me a year ago can be sold to fund another Ovation purchase finally. I've been scouring craigslist and have a few outstanding buys flagged. Can't wait to be in the O fold again!

Location: SoCal		More like the HD-28 VS (vintage slothead) that Stephen foolishly sold me a couple of years ago. I feel guilty not playing it much though as I play my O's, A's, and Taks a lot more.

Interesting as to slothead v. standard headstock. Example is when Martin came out with their lower priced D-15 mahogony. I had played the standard headstock 6-str and was unimpressed. The D-15 slothead was more responsive, better projection, etc. Probably doesn't make much difference if near their top end with different bracing and materials.

Location: SoCal		An Adams I or II SLOTHEAD 12-str would have been interesting.

Yet, most of the Martin D45-12's were slotheads. The one I got that went through Martin's custom shop is a standard headstock. Probably as it was made for Steve Fiott of the east coast for his White Mountain Singers. Has a beautiful inlaid WMS on the headstock...won't tell you what I said it probably meant to Michael when negotiating the price, before I did some research and bought a couple of their CD's (reissue). Heck, wasn't hard as a Martin custom shop has the brass plate.

Fiott produced the 1st two albums of the Kingston Trio and the Clancy Brothers as well as performing.

Compared to another D45-12 with slothead, didn't hear any difference.

Location: Latitude 39.56819, Longitude -105.080066		My Baxendale 12 string 12 fret slot head is a tone monster.
I had Baxendale use my 1688 and copy the neck profile and a couple other features.
It turned out so good that I felt comfortable selling my 1688.

It was my fav 12 of all time until I got my 2080 Longneck Adamas 12.
Scary good and a true earthquake type sound.
