No, the '78 Legend bowls were black. I have a '78 Country Artist in sunburst, and the bowl is black and the label is the same style. This Legend looks to be in very good condition for a 1978 guitar.

But, there were also older Legends with brown bowls.

Hey Andrew, I'm also a big fan of the early O's. Your '79 Legend is a classic original, as the stacked tone/volume knob on the shoulder was unique then. I'm wondering if they made a Campbell Artist in the same configuration. It would be a great match to my Sunburst 1624. Both midbowls with the same electronics. It's also almost impossible to find an early midbowl cutaway electric 1777 Legend.
