Meanwhile on a beach somewhere on the gulf coast of southern Florida. While the rest of us have been stuck in the cold freezing our butts off.

That was a great get-together.
Strange to say Brad but one of the things that sticks with me from that trip is when your ordered a pizza, went over it at least twice with the waiter, made him repeat the order, and even warned him of how your pizza orders tend to come back wrong. And what happened? Of course... it was wrong. I still remember that look of resigned defeat you had.

(forum for two ... pardon us)

.

Stuck with you? Wasn't pizza, it was grits. "Grits on the side" I believe was the first order. Grits came on the plate. "Grits on the side, on a separate plate" was the second order. Grits came on the side... of the plate. "NO GRITS ON MY ORDER!" was the third. Grits came smack dab in the middle of the plate.

I don't remember having breakfast with the Professor.
I was probably sleeping off the 5 am Huddle House event.
I do remember the pizza place tho.
.
The Prof must have had more troubles than I witnessed.

I just have to read through a few more times and I'll be able tell the story like I was there!
It just works that way the older I get...

It doesn't surprise me a bit that you have no recollection of the events at AI..........

It was grits for breakfast at the Mermaid. No matter how many times I tried to off the grits, they just kept coming. Alison, you recommended some guy who was not an official locksmith, but you said he "had a way" with things. He showed up ten minutes later, stuck a wooden doorstop in the top of the door jam, then gave it a solid whack with a two-pound sledge. A two inch gap appeared in the top of the door jam into which he reached down and unlocked the car. What a genius. Of course, the door has whistled at anything over 60 mph ever since.
