| I m Dave, bought my 1115 in 1981 in New London Ct. sn 238094. 3 days from going on my second FBM patrol.
I am a Submariner. She went to sea with me and has been halfway around the world. She has battle scars worn frets and multiple finish cracks. her Sitka spruce is whole. she sings better than any martin, taylor, Gibson,
takamine, and many other guitars I have had the pleasure of playing. she is my third guitar. first was a red label Yamaha fg170. second was a taka m100 dreadnought. fourth alvarez 5090 fusion chambered a/e. fifth Mitchell md100, sixth takaminie etn40, seventh Sigma sd18, eighth alvarez 5084 biphonic circa 1985. I am not a collector. they all get regular play. each has a particular tone quality and all have unusual sustain and ringing harmonics. even the cheap Mitchell. and I wouldn t trade a one of them for a name. I have always loved the way this particular 12 string sounds and the ease in fretting her. and the fACT she doesn t have a single bad spot on her neck. glad to have found a place to share my fondness for the way she sings to me. To me it isn t about the name on the headstock , its how she behaves under my fingers. thanks for letting me share my love of acoustic music and the tools that produce that sound. |
