I just posted this instrument on eBay. It's in great condition. Please check it out when you get a chance.

This is a rare and unusual Ovation Adamas prototype guitar. As described in a letter from the Ovation company to a previous owner;
“Thank you for your inquiry concerning your Adamas prototype guitar. This guitar was constructed by out engineering department in 1995 or 1996 to test new types of bonding the top to the bowl. You will notice that it has no bowl ring or binding on the body, rather, this guitar was built in the manner of conventional luthiery with wood kerfing on the inside of the bowl. Even the neck is very special, being a 14 fret (clear) dovetail-type neck with Folklore inlays. This guitar has no serial number as it is not a production piece, and there were no electronics installed at the factory. This is a very unusual piece that should be a valuable addition to your collection."
The instrument is in very good condition, save for some small scratches on the the heel of the neck. Auction includes hard shell case and the letter from Ovation. The action on this guitar is great.
The only reason I am parting with this instrument as I am making some life changes (self financing an upcoming tour) and the income will be needed to help me meet my goals.
Thanks for checking this instrument out, and have a great day!

I'm looking around the house for the truss rod cover....not sure if I have it.
It was purchased at a guitar shop in Virginia Beach back in the late 90's. That's how I came to own it. However, the paperwork that came with the guitar does have the name and address of a previous owner. They were in Georgia.

Location: Fredericksburg, VA | I don't know how it sounds in comparison to a regular Adamas. I have an early 90's Ovation Elite 12 string and a much older solidbody 12 string Ovation electric.
This guitar is more comparable in sound to an archtop guitar, to my ear.
I've had it since 1999, I believe. Maybe 2000. Hard for me to pin down an exact date. When my ex and I split, he took all the receipts and records.
