Hey folks, I've had an Ovation semi-hollow for about 7 years now, but I don't know the exact model. It was given to me by a close friend of my family as a wedding present. When I was a teen and we would visit, I'd sneak in the room where he kept it and plunk out whatever songs I coud figure out. Pretty much learned how to play on it, so it's very special to me. I've seen pictures of "Storm series" guitars, but they always have pickgaurds, and mine doesn't, nor does it have any holes to lead me to believe that it ever did have one. Any help would be greatly appreciated! The model is 1211-5 and the serial no. is B 755. Thanks again!

Howdy Rev,

If it's black, it must be an Eclipse.

What sorta 'help' are you looking for?

That's it, really! Just always been curious as to the model. I found pictures of Tornados that look similar in style, nut they all had pick guards, so I figured mine had to be different. The only Eclipse I've seen had a matte finish as opposed to a glossy one like mine and didn't have the white binding around it. Thanks for your help! Any idea what year it might be?

if yours is glossy, it ain't an Eclipse. Your picture is not viewable... at least not by me.

For some reason the Facebook link isn't working for me... but if we can see it... we'll be able to identify by the pickups and pickguard and some other tells.
