His guitar is obviously a Custom Legend based on the fretboard design, it's a cutaway and made in 1996. I have a 30th Anniversary "Commemorative" Custom Legend that looks entirely different. It's bearclaw sitka spruce with abalone raised rosette, it has the pop-out Op-Pro electronics, inlaid abalone perfling and position markers (diamonds), high gloss face, headstock and neck. It's also a non-cutaway. Mine doesn't have the fretboard inlay saying 30th Anniversary or Collectors but it does have the truss rod cover that says "30th Commemorative" (and dual truss rod adjustment by the way). If I knew how to post a pic, I'd include it here. I'm working with Ovation on some fine tuning so mine is not for sale (yet) and I'm not pushing Patch's guitar either, although it's a beautiful piece and probably sounds as good as it looks. I just don't understand how they can both be "30th" year CL models and be so different. Can someone familiar with these models help out here? Thanks.

Call it what you want but it is in a different class. The 2004 1719-30CM was to commemorate the 30 wonderful years of the Custom Legend. From the time Linda got a Cl for Paul. ![]()

All my buddy's I jam with are jealous. In fact one, just yesterday found a 30th commemorative on Ebay and bought it out right. Didn't even bid on it!! I think, no ,I know you will be sorry if you did.

The scales tipped to the Takamine side and I'm more than pleased with my choice, but, I still yearn for the 30CM. What a classy insrument!
