Joined: June 2012 Posts: 112 Location: Bristol England | I always thought the AX suffix was used to identify models made in Korea, however, a S778AX Elite Special has turned up on ebay uk with a made in the US label inside. Can anyone help out with this apparent anomaly or is it just me that has been misinformed all this time. | ||

It has a TRC. You could ask for the serial number... If it is six digits, it could be real. | ||

So it might have been sent back to the MotherShip for repair and had that label added. (I will not speculate further... Like "Why would the MotherShip have an AX label"...) | ||

I remember this was an issue with many guitars where people thought they were made in the usa because the bowl is stamped "Made in the USA" as it should be, but the rest of the guitar was made and assembled in Korea | ||
