Hey Eveyone, Happy to meet you all here.

A couple of weeks back, walked into my local GC and came across a 1651 that they had taken in trade. I fell in love with how she sounded unplugged and was immediately interested. I managed to get what I think was a pretty good deal on it as they werent sure if the electronics were in working order(the battery had leaked and corroded the terminals.

Anyway... to make a long story short, I have discovered that the electronics do work, but Im not quite sure how to take advantage of the stereo capabilities of the guitar. Namely, do I need to need to run stereo cables out of the mono and stereo jacks, a mono cable out of the mono and stereo out of the stereo, or is there something else that Im missing.

Thanks

Scram, Go to your music local store and ask for (or google up) "insert cable" That's what you need.

Those are great guitars, enjoy!

Thanks for the info Damon67..... I love the guitar unplugged and the stereo output would be a neat bonus to me. This question will re affirm my novice status in all of this, but I presume with the insert cable that you plug the y end into the guitar out puts (stereo and mono) and then the single end into my amp (or do I have this backwards?). Sorry.... I guess even 70's stereo technology is new to me.

BTW... I dated my 1651 back to 1978.

completely backwards!

single end into stereo jack on guitar, the others go to 2 separate amps. One amp will be dedicated to strings 1,3, and 5, the other will have 2, 4, and 6.

Not that it matters in this particular case, but the electric guitars with the stereo option work the same way, but one amp is the neck pickup, the other amp is the bridge pickup.

welcome to the club. you're now a full member. feel free to post about.
