| Hi Everyone,
new to the website, I looked around for some info on iDea preamps but didnt find anything.
I recently picked up a celebrity with this iDea preamp in it, I really love this guitar and the preamp even though its a low/midrange acoustic/electric. It sounds beautiful to me and the iDea recorder is perfect for me. My trouble is as follows:
when I plug in my head phones to turn it on it briefly pops pretty loud...is that normal?
when I try to record with the setting in guitar/mic I have a very noticable feedback over the recording
when I try to record with the setting in guitar/aux it sometimes shuts completely off, its not the display timer either.
Any help would be much apreciated.
cheers.

Location: Keepin' It Weird in Portland, OR | Hi... I do not have a lot of experience with the iDea, even though I have owned a few.
First, I just checked, when I turn the iDea unit ON mine does "POP" through the amp.
I repeated this a number of times, and it popped each time.
I have never really used it to record, so I cannot answer any of those questions.
Here is a site that you may find helpful... http://www.ideafordummies.com/
It does sound like you are using the iDea up to it's potential.
All that I have ever done is play along with backing tracks.
Unfortunately I do not think that Fender has kept all of the features open on the Ovation website.
Hopefully someone with more experience with the iDea will come along with more input.

Welcome.
Glad you're diggin on the Celeb. I don't have much to add to what OMA said. I don't ever really use mine.
I really think Ovation shoulda coulda done an electric (Korean I'm sure) with this technology imbedded and I think it would have done better. Especially the jammin with tracks option. |
