Location: Pueblo West, CO | One of the guitars on my bucket list is the Alvarez DY92.
The shape of the headstock on the DY92 is a bit funky, but is more than offset by the beautiful back. 1990 Alvarez by K.Yairi DY92 Reportedly, the sound of these guitars are pretty incredible.

I saw one of those on the wall in a Ft. Worth, TX music store a few months back. Aside from taking note of its resemblance to an O, I wasn't interested further. The worksmanship of the back wood strips seemed a tad chintzy and there were small cracks in between the wood strips. I don't even remember what they were asking for it. I was in there again today and it was gone. |

Location: Canada | These hand made Yairi guitars were certainly highly prized in the 70s and I think also rare. There are some nice pictures and videos on this site, tough I have no idea what they are talking about:

If I trust google translate, then the strips at the back were CARVED and not bent, similar to the lutes of middle ages!
