Seems like the 1778 moniker covers a lot of ground, lots of different colors, finishes, and configurations. You can at least count on it being a multi-soundhole model. The LX's I played back when they used to hang on the wall in the stores were all nice guitars. I can't speak to the TX model.

So watch it or we'll have to bring out the coconut bra and grass skirt pictures. I'd have done it already, but I forgot how to post pictures and I get the dry heaves every time I see that one.

I want to at least try the mid-depth bowl. My search does not show much chit chat abut these models, are they not one of the favorites? I know there is not the normal bling etc.. If you compare a TX to a normal Celebrity, the TX is a Good (maybe Great) guitar. If you compare a TX to a USA T, you will find the TX wanting. I bought a 1778TX not too long ago because nobody was letting-go of an Elite T... Right after I bought the TX I found a T for about the same price. They sounded similar until I changed the strings on the T... Acoustically the USA T is much better. But plugged-in the T and the TX sound similar. The TX is a Great guitar for what it is. Understand that all of these Korean O's are just expensive Celebrity's. I have owned many Celebrity's that were very nice guitars. But the TX is not a USA-made Ovation. (BTW-- I promptly sold the TX and the included iDea preamp and made my money back) Edited by Old Man Arthur 2013-03-07 6:03 PM
