Hi! I am a student from Europe, and I amplaning on buying my very first Ovation (and have been for quite a while now), but have decided not to go for the 1777 LX, because it will definitely break the bank. So I have set my eyes on the 2771 AX Standard Balladeer for a third of the price, and hopefully more than a third of the sound and quality of the LX. But the problem is, that I can't get my hands on a model anywhere around here to play (I have played the LX and loved it), so I am wondering if anyone has owned/played this particular model? There's virtually no information on this guitar on teh internet, or this forum.

I'm planing on buying it from thomann.de, and they have a 30 day return policy, so I'll send it back if I don't like it, but am still curious about your experiences with this particular guitar. And who knows, if I love it, I might get a full blown LX some time soon

Thanks for your input!

Hi Gaber,
I haven't tried the model you mention but I bought a 1863AX Classic and a 2056AX Legend 12 string from Thomann at the end of last year. I am very impressed with the fit and finish of both and I have no complaints about either. Remember you're not getting a case with the balladeer so if you can stretch to a Legend AX for a couple of hundred Euros or so more imo that would prove to be a better investment imo but I guess that would also depend on whether your preference is for the maple/rosewood neck of the Balladeer or the 5pc mahogany/maple with ebony board on the Legend.
