I just bought my first Ovation today at a garage sale. Near mint condition, so I thought it was pretty new, but it looks nice and says that it is made in USA, so I thought I'd take a chance on it for the $30 she was asking for it (it didnt have strings on it) The model number is 1117-1, and the serial number is 044792. If I'm looking at the chart right, that makes it a 1975? If so, this thing must have spent its life in the case. I strung it up with a set of lights adjusted the truss rod a little. i was hoping to be able to string it up and flip it for $100 or so, but I'm really digging this guitar, so I think I'll keep it. I think I got a pretty good deal. Came with a chipboard case and the original owners manual.
