| Hi Guys,
i've noticed a couple of different ovation logos on the headstocks, do they represent different years or different models?
Just interested in knowing the history behind these. |

Location: Keepin' It Weird in Portland, OR | The headstock decals that look like this...
means that Fender made them. (This is a 2012 1778TX)
The older USA headstocks look like this...
(This is a 2007 1778T)
There "Fonts" also changed a bit from year to year.
If you look around HERE you will see many different types from different years.
That is from http://www.ovationtribute.com/
There is all kinds of information there.

| I just bought my first ovation (2078AX) and was interested in why the decal was different, not realising that Fender bought the music arm of Kaman in 2007.
I love the story of where Kaman music came from, a real double whammy for me as i love playing guitars and i have a helicopter license...not that i've flown for a long time :-( Too expensive but i have my music to fall back on.
I noticed the cases till have the old decal...or at least mine does. |
