I don't know about you, but there are times when the National Anthem is sung at events when I just want to cover my ears. But here is a performance that is just fantastic!

Agreed... Harmony is a wonderful thing.
Somewhere someplace I have a recording of Marvin Gaye doing the anthem. That's real good, too.

The harmonies were FABULOUS!
(but that "whine" is like nails on a chalkboard . . .)

I normally get geese bumps when I hear our Nation Anthem. I also get 'em with Taps, the Missing Man Formation and the 'thwap, thwap, thwap' of a Huey chopper.

But this rendition should be the standard for the Anthem! Awesome!!!

Thanx MusicMishka !

I love to hear those girls sing- they range in age from 8 to 13.

Cliff - That isn't a whine - that is a Texas twang and I love it LOL

Wow. Nothing like hearing that song sung well. And Marvin did do a great job, Brad - that's one of my favorite versions too.

I have to give credit where credit is due: Vision sent it to me and I was so blown away with it that I wanted to share...Thanks Leslie!
And Brad, if you find the Marvin Gaye version, please post it...It's a classic!
Have a great week all...

I was a bit young to catch Jimi play it, but I was at this show when this was recorded.

Patience is needed, it's at the end of the clip. One of the best closers I've seen up close and personal. We were right at the stage. If you listen close, you can hear me screaming! :D

Thanks for asking Jim...its been really acting up the past three days: most pain I've had in two months...I knew the treatments would not last forever but I was hoping to get more than 60 days relief...the injury was pretty severe. I'm just trying to hang in there. And of course, I've signed up to play golf at Amelia...call me crazy; call me irresponsible; call me a cab or 911...lol
