hi

Many people find gypsy jazz guitars suitable for playing gypsy jazz rather expensive. Cheap models are terrible and I would not recommend them for buying. I know I am not the only one who thinks in this way. Has anyone of you ever tried playing gypsy jazz on ovation guitars? Are they suited for gypsy jazz?

Romane's friend in this clip does good job in my opinion. What do you think guys?

I would consider Mediterranean Sunset a sort of "Gypsy Jazz"

Ovation has a prototype gypsy jazz guitar that I know Darren would love to see the light of day.
if it every does is yet to be determined.

Little more info. Of the three, he gifted one to a great jazz player named Django Porter... had Django's name inlayed on the fretboard... and one was auctioned off for Parkinson's fund drive. Freddy suffers from Parkinson's and can no longer play. Real sweetheart of a man who carries on with grace and humor

I've never played one, PM. I hope to have the opportunity. I have to admit though, I'm personally not partial to acoustics with tail pieces, so I'd be really surprised if I care much for it.

This might be a video showing Freddy's and Django's guitars...

Does that have a tailpiece AND a fixed bridge, or is that a giant floating bridge?
