I recently bought a 1982 1624 Country Artist. I really like the guitar, but I generally prefer gold tuners rather than chrome.

While looking on eBay, I saw an ad for a 1763 which has tuners I like.

The question I have for the more knowledgeable among us is will the tuners from a 1763 fit on a 1624?

I measured the spacing of the tuners from my 1624 and the tuners are 1-3/8" apart, center to center.

The mounting screws are the same distance apart. (1-3/8")

The overall length of the mounting frames from end to end are 4-11/16".

The black plastic winders inside the slots are 3/8" in diameter.

If someone on the forum has a 1763, could you measure the tuners to see if theirs are the same size as mine?

Thanks again. I'm including pics of tuners from both my 1624 and a 1763 I found on eBay.

Dan

In all fairness to the eBayer, the last pic showing the chipped finish on the ear is not from the eBay ad. That is a pic from another 1763 I found online. I used it here because it's side pic of the 1763 tuners.

H, iDan,
you can replace them, they have the same measurment. I've swapped them on mine for gold ones, too.
If you want them new, I can help you....
