Joined: August 2012 Posts: 227 | I sent an e-mail to Ovation about what the differences were between these two guitars, other then the nicer tuners and a little more detail in the wood work around the sound holes. Answer: " These are the same basic guitar the 1758 has fancier appointments and a higher grade spruce top. " Just thought it was a good FYI for those who were wondering, like me. Joined: August 2012 Posts: 227 | Perhaps the ebony fretboard was an option. The 1758 I purchased from GC, which will arrive later this week, looks to have the same fretboard as the 1736. The one on CraigsList looked to have a darker wood, like Ebony. I'll know more when I see it in person. | ||

Joined: August 2012 Posts: 227 | Yes. I bought the 1758. Now, I have to wait until MONDAY to see it at my front door. I don't know whether to have UPS stop it at the local distribution center , where I can pick it up after work, or take the afternoon off to wait for it. | ||
