Can anyone tell me what are the correct values for the Volume and Tone pots and the tone control capacitors on a Magnum MkI bass? I can't seem to find any reference material that gives these details.

Cheers,
Ken

Wait for MWoody or Miles. They probably know off the top of their heads.

I've just heard from Ovation (I emailed them).

In case anyone else needs this info: the Volume pots are 500k log, the Tone pots are 250k log and the treble-bleed capacitors are .047µF

Cheers,
Ken

It makes sense that they used 250k 500k Logarythmic pots and the .047 micro farad caps. That is the standard on the solidbody guitars.

In this Magnum II Parts List it shows a 100k being used with the slider assembly but that is different.

If you haven't already check the links below for Jerome and Paul's Ovation sites. They have a lot of data!

And welcome!

An update: since I heard from Ovation, Dennydenco has obtained schematics for the Magnum I and II, which show slightly different component values. SEE THIS THREAD

(P.S.: Denny's copy of the Magnum I diagram is now clearer and easier to read.)

I know this is an old thread, but does anyone still have a wiring diagram? This thread would have answered all my questions except for the fact that the values in the schematic are different from what Ovation mentioned and the links to the schematics don't work

I've actually downloaded the diagrams already
The problem is that they are only patents for specific parts on the magnum. They don't really talk about values of the pots. I've also found the parts lists for the Magnum I. It gives the values for the pots, but none of the capacitors.
