Give some of the Ovations use maple for the structure of the neck, has anyone had one made one with a maple neck and finger board ? I think some of the black bodied Elites and the like would look pretty cool with a maple fret board and neck. I have a maple neck, black bodied G & L electric that looks and feels pretty good.

Maple necks, yes. Maple fretboards, no.

Don't know anybody who makes a maple fretboard for an acoustic guitar (doesn't mean nobody's done it). I would assume that there's a reason....

google acoustic guitar with maple fretboard. You'll see an image of a gorgeous Ibanez with one.

I have a black bass with maple neck and something black stained fretboard (B778TX). The neck is "satin" finished. I've buffed it until it's like glossed, because I don't like the satin finish. When the fingers get a bit wet from playing it feels like gum. I prefer glossed necks or if they were out of hardwood, slightly oiled ones.

Vipers come with maple on maple necks. The Jim Messina had a flamed maple fingerboard, but on mahogany. Dunno of any acoustics though.

I'm calling the "spandex rule" on this one.

I've tried to figure out the "spandex rule"... nothing is coming to mind. I know the one about bicyclists. " The further away you are from your bike, the more stupid your riding pants look. "

MWoody is in possession of a maple/maple, K-bar, with a short heel. It was some kind of Friday PM pipedream at The Mothership, I suppose. Never installed on anything, cuz there weren't any holes for tuner screws.
I'm waitin' to see what comes from it.

I've had a couple guitars with maple fret boards. Don't have them any more.
Maple just doesn't seem to be able to take the string abrasion very long. Probably why you don't see it used much in FB's.

There are some pretty old Strats out there with maple necks. If I ever meet a luthier, I'll have to ask.
