My first inclination was it's a phony, but then... it makes ya wonder... tells ??? - never saw that version of the logo on an O headstock, I've only seen it on the old tan hard shell cases - all the early bridges I've seen were five point design (see Josh White model) not the curved shape - even a hand laid fiberglass bowl would've been easier to make than a wooden one... wouldn't it??? - hard to tell from the photos but yeah, the neck stripes do look like they might be painted on - non-vintage (Vanson?) tuners - squared off neck end and yet other details are curious... - seems to have had a prior sound hole rosette removed. Why do that on a fake? - the revealed sound hole stripes design, again why bother? - neck binding (extra work?) - body edge binding and purfling stripes (more extra work??) Seems like an awful lot of time and effort to fake something with such meager reward. Curiouser and curiouser Alice. |
