Location: Boise, Idaho | Somewhere in the fine print, you'll find something about requiring locks that airport security can open or they are allowed to break open any locks that don't comply. You are safer if you don't lock it. |

I feel an Arlo Guthrie number coming.....
That's a completely different "couple of keys"…
(although it might explain why you want to lock your case.)
In the USA, any luggage-lock must be TSA compatible (meaning they can open it with a special master key.) If it's not, they have the right to break open whatever other lock is used. I believe this applies to carry-on as well as checked luggage, so, unless you have a case with a TSA-approved lock, don't lock it…
Ovation's web-site does not mention TSA locks on their specs (although they may include them now,) SKB's latest Ovation-compatible cases do specifically mention that they include TSA locks.

Those locks really don't stop anyone who is determined to open it.
And a real thief will just take the whole case and open it later.

Location: Texas | Perhaps it's better unlocked anyway? That way, a potential thief can take a peek and decide not to take it when they see it's "just an Ovation." That might be one of the rare times when "getting no respect" is a good thing...
