Location: Athens, Alabama | I have a 94 EA68 Viper that I aquired recently. I have been playing it in my acoustic gig. I have an issue with the output level and a 'pop' when played hard. The output is considerably lower that my Taylor K-14, but it pops like a clip when played hard. Any thoughts?
I am a lead player and like the Viper, but like to go after it agressivly and am a bit discouraged by this issue.
Any advice would be appreciated!
also, what strings do you use? I have XL phospor bronze De Adarios on it now.
Thanks! |

I've experimented with a lot of stings on mine, and the D'Addario EJ16's work great, but I tend to like the DR Sunbeam 12's better as they tend to play a bit slinkier and work slightly better when playing leads and such in a more electric style. YMMV. |
