Location: Copenhagen Denmark | When a guitar is prone to strong/weak Mid -range , has any -one tried the following , For the sake of Simplicity , Assume Tuning to Concert -Pitch ( E A D G B E ) , to change a string -set , to -Increase- Mid -range , say , use X -tra Light on high E and Low E , Light on A and B , Medium on D and G , in order to Increase Mid - range ..., and , Vice -versa , to -Decrease- Mid -range ?

I find that the strings you use will affect the tone of the instrument but I don't think I want to buy my strings individually to get a different sound. |

Location: Eaton, Indiana | Interesting concept. I have tried numerous combinations but usually end up with stock sets. I do, however, use a plain .20 or .22 for a third string when recording. Very smooth.

Just use an Ovation. |

| Several European manufacturers will custom make you sets in any combination you want at very little extra cost.
No idea whether any on your side of the pond will do it. |

Location: Hot Springs, S.D. | Here at Canterbury String Shop, we sell SIT strings. They will make up a custom set of any type. They don't cost any more than the stock sets, and if you've never tried SIT's, you should. I've had people call me on the phone to thank me for them. You may have a hard time finding them, but they are worth the hunt. |

Location: Copenhagen Denmark | Perhaps I did not explain myself well , I Alter Tone due to circumstances , for ex. , theme of "Third man " by Anton Karas ( Third man / Orson Welles ), I find that the Tone of my 1617 comes closest to play that , However , it`s mid -range lacks " bite " , for it does have subdued mid`s , hence , my X-perimenting with Altering Tone / Volume...
I do know of SIT , they`re readily available overhere..have n`t tried them yet , and THANX for the tip CB -strings... :)
