A local Craigslist ad has a Matrix 100 watt amp, described as a product of Kaman Music Corp. I did a little research, but couldn't find anything. This is not a Matrix model from the H & K amps that KMC owns. I suspect the amp isn't worth the asking price, but I'm curious.

Miles needs to jump in here. He's the Kaman amp man. Remember the contents of his boat house?

Looks pretty straightforward. Hard telling what its features are. My guess is solid state, twin 8" or 10" speakers, the seller says it has a reverb, possibly some EQ with all those controls. Not sure where it was made, but it probably says on it somewhewre. My guess is that it would measure pretty well against a Crate or Berringer product from the same era. It looks to be in good condition and he did a nice job on the carpet covering if you can live with the color. The scratchy pots are usually easily remedied with electronic lube spray. He's asking $150 which is probably reasonable. If everything works, I'd offer him a hundred and settle at $125 (unless you happen to have some silver dollars he's asking for). That's about what you'd pay for a used FX pedal. What's there to lose (unless, of course, you happen to already have a basement or boathouse full of amps that don't get used much)?

If you look carefully at the photos in the ad you can see the Made In Korea mark. If I had the extra cash I'd go for it. Looks like a cool little amp.

Two acoustic amps, a powered PA, three electric amps (although one's a GDec and one's up at the cabin) and the only one that's ever left the basement is the one I keep at the cabin. I'll probably go look at it this weekend anyway.

It's a nice amp, but I think it's an acoustic. It has 2 8 inch Star speakers with a real spring reverb, equalizer, chorus, and a gain and volume for 2 inputs. It also has 2 speaker outputs and an input for a footswitch. I don't know how you'd ever find a footswitch that works. Anyway, it's a nice amp, but I don't need another acoustic amp, so it's still available, now down to $125.
