Is it off topic even if Kaman Music bought C.Bruno (maker/importer of Ventura) in the early 1980s?

Anyway....

I got this about 2 months ago. I gutted her completely only keeping the body, neck, and shield. Replaced everything else. Finally done.

My 1970 Ventura V-1400

Correction: 1980s was 1908s

Nice work. I love that classic cherry burst finish. Just one minor note . . . it isn't likely that Kaman was buying anything in the 1908s.

very true... corrected!

I like the sunburst too... but I have considered refinishing it to Pelham blue with a natural neck, leaving the headstock and stinger as is.

The finish looks pretty good for an old guitar.

The finish is good for 40+ years. It has some damage at the bottom front, possible drop damage. Some buckle rash on the back. Thats why Im considering a refinish in the future.

The new pups are a down on volume, but sound good. Just what you would expect from a jazz guitar. I may change them out later for something brighter & louder. It plays like a dream... EASY to play. Very Ovation like.
